del.icio.us Firerox extension for Firefox 3.0 Beta 4

If you (like me) just can’t live without del.icio.us Firefox extension, you can modify it for Firefox 3.0 Beta 4.

Just open archive (it’s zip packaged) and:

  1. change in file install.rdf line from
    <em:maxVersion>2.0.0.*</em:maxVersion> to <em:maxVersion>3.0b4</em:maxVersion>,
  2. remove dir META-INF (includes digital signature).

You can try this with other Firefox 3.0 Beta 4 non compatible extensions, most of them don’t have digital signature.

June 5, 2008:
Update 1
Firefox 3.0 RC2 has been released, so it won’t be working with releases newer than Firefox 3.0 Beta 4.
To fix this change the line to
<em:maxVersion>3.0</em:maxVersion>
It will make your life easier till developers from del.icio.us make it officially compatible with Firefox 3.0.

Use this http://del.icio.us/extensions/firefox/delicious.xpi from http://blog.delicious.com/blog/2008/04/firefox-3-delicious-and-you.html :-).
